Calvin “Ronald” Allman, Sr., age 84, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023. He was born September 15, 1938 in Hogansville, Georgia. He retired at age 55 as a senior millwright machinist from Sonoco Paper Products with over 35 years of service. Ronald loved spending time with his family. He loved to travel and enjoyed gardening and camping. His favorite pastime was playing cards. Ronald was a Civil War buff and loved metal detecting for relics. He collected coins and military dog tags from WWI and WWII.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John Frank and Ruby Ellen (Yates) Allman; sisters, Mary Ellen Wheeler and Frances Crowe; brothers, Bob Allman and Tommy Allman; son-in-law, Jonn Clifton.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 46 years, Wanaza Allman; son, Calvin Ronald “Rocky”Allman, Jr. and wife, Pam; daughters, Sandra Elaine McCleskey, Teresa Denise Clifton, and Jeanene Marie Bishop and husband, Doug; brother, Gary Allman and wife, Marsha; five grandchildren, Chris Allman, Adam McCleskey and Courtney, Kira Campbell and Sean, and Ivory Clifton and Hendrick Simmons; and grandson-in-love, Guff Stephens. Ronald also leaves behind numerous other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life service is planned for Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Smyrna Second Baptist Church, 2698 Atlanta Road, Smyrna, Georgia 30080 with Brother Cloys Turner officiating. The eulogy will be delivered by Jeanene Bishop. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
The family requests flowers be delivered to the church fellowship hall on Saturday, July 22, 2023 between 10 am and 4 pm.
