He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, along with his loving son, Scot Hudson.
Buford was born in Douglasville, GA, on September 22nd, 1936, the son of the late Clifford Mccoy Hudson and James Evie Hudson. Buford was a proud graduate of Douglas County High School. He was a Douglasville Masonic Lodge member and a Yaarab Shriner. Known for his giving spirit, relentless work ethic, and deep love for his community, Buford sought every opportunity to help others in need.
After starting his career in the military, he followed his passion for cooking and opened Hudson’s Hickory House in downtown Douglasville in 1971. A pillar in the community, Buford worked for over 50 years serving Douglas County and took great pride in cooking the best BBQ around. An avid farmer, he spent most of his time bailing hay, cutting wood, riding on the tractor, and sharing his wisdom with all who would hear. In recent years, he cherished spending precious time with those who called him Paw Paw. Buford loved the Lord, being a farmer, a BBQ master, an outdoorsman, and, most of all, a loving father.
He is survived by his daughter, Alexis Machava, and her husband, Filipe Machava; his son, Seath Hudson; their mother, Anita Hudson; and his cherished grandchildren, Elena Hudson, Jaiden Machava, Merciana Machava, and Adryano Machava.
