Bill Ladd Smith

Bill Ladd Smith, 70, of Whitesburg, Georgia passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter, Nicole Rush, on Tuesday, October 21, 2015. In addition to being an avid Braves’ baseball fan Bill was an outdoorsman who loved camping, hiking and fishing. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who had a great sense of humor, quick to deliver a memorable pun, had a kind and generous heart, and an enthusiastic love for his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill K. and Lillian Ladd Smith of Tucker, Georgia.

He is survived by two daughters Denise (Clay) Lloyd of Mobile, Alabama and Nicole (Shane) Rush of Douglasville, Georgia, and four grandchildren: Heather Eastin, DJ Holden, Alexander and Ashton Rush. He leaves behind two sisters: Bonnie Stuart of Mooresville, NC and Lila (Carroll) Ware of Skowhegan, Maine and one brother James Ladd (Rita) Smith of Bethlehem, Georgia. Bill was blessed with many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews - all of whom will miss their hero Uncle Billy deeply.

A memorial service will be held on November 1, 2015 at 2:30 PM at the Price of Peace Lutheran Church's Fellowship Hall.
