Betty Nell Wallace, age 94, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024. She was born February 8, 1930 in Albany, Georgia. Family came first with Betty, who was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She had a career spanning more than 25 years as an executive secretary at Lockheed. She has been a member of Central Baptist Church since 2000 and was formerly a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church for nearly 70 years. Betty was the owner of the Terri Lynne Shop, a clothing store in Mableton. A talented artist in a variety of mediums, she worked with acrylic painting creating landscapes, houses and barns. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, shopping, loved flowers, gardening and growing vegetables.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband of more than 40 years, Harold Wallace; her parents, Frank and Rosa (Stanfield) Akin; and daughter-in-law, Judy Wallace.
Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Hal Douglas Wallace; daughter, Terri Wallace Cox (Jimmy); grandchildren, James Cox (Brittany), Julie Cox Brady, Jennifer Gattuso (Ry), Shiloh Elliot (Jamie); Stacey Wallace and Christopher Wallace (Jessie); great-grandchildren, Liam, Addison, Dakota, April, Alivia, Wyatt, Mac, Wren, Arlo and Natalie Cobb (Adam); niece, Rhonda Johnston; and nephew, Ken Akin.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 8, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 in Rosehaven Chapel. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
