Mrs. Betty Amason Norton, age 75, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019. She was born August 20, 1944 in LaGrange, Georgia. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved all animals, especially cats. She was well known locally as an artist, teaching art for many years, and was a member of the Cultural Arts Center. She was Baptist by faith.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Norton; her parents, Jay and Alma (McCollum) Amason; and her sister, Diane Laster.
She is survived by her son, Jay (Christye Holloway) Norton of Ellijay, Georgia; her daughter, Jodi (Barry) Goodwin of Douglasville, Georgia; and one granddaughter, Jessica (Kasey) Gordon of Douglasville, Georgia; and her furbaby, LuLu.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Rosehaven Memorial Park with Dr. Gene Tyre officiating.
