I never saw Mrs. Nolan without her huge smile and personality both were a gift from God and myself and anyone that knew her carry memories of her that in our lifetimes won't fade .

Betty it was an honor working for you and with you.  Betty was my first to meet along with Janice. They were interviewing me for the Wellstar Douglas Gift Shop. Back in 2012, with my application I wrote a letter. Betty was more interested in what I wrote than what I could actually do.  I was hired and soon became her Friend along with the other lovely Friends I made. Betty always made a point to stop in the gift shop to check on me.  She would hold my hand or just touch it as we would talk. Always so kind and curious about those around her.  I moved away almost 4 years ago and sad I did not get the chance to see her.  Resting in Peace I know she will be the Angel by her Families side.  Love you Mrs. Betty!

I am a retiree of Greystone Power and Bob Noland was the attorney during my employment.  Betty was always so gracious and kind.  My condolences to the family.

When I first met Betty, we were both at the Cultural Arts Center.  Years later, I started volunteering at WellStar Douglas Hospital.  By then Betty had retired, her legacy continues.  It was a pleasure to know her, and try to volunteer by her example.....



My heartfelt prayers and sympathy to the Noland family.   I loved Betty, and will miss her always.  My first husband, Ken, who was an attorney in Douglas County,  and I became friends with Bob and Betty when we moved here in 1976.  She was so kind, sweet and caring and those qualities touched me personally in July 1981.  I broke my knee in several places in a NC horse riding accident and was transferred to Douglas General, where I stayed for a week.  About the 5th day of lying in the hospital bed, an ANGEL unexpectedly came into my room and said, “Would you like me to wash your hair?  It will make you feel better.”  I tearfully said please, and the bond that came from Betty’s caring act has lasted a lifetime.  Rest In Peace, Betty, and know that all of us who loved you are grateful that God placed you in our lives.

The service for Betty Noland was beautiful as was she. We feel so fortunate to have known and loved this wonderful and gracious lady, and are sorry we were not able to pay our respects in person.

Wow, what can I say? Mrs. Betty Noland, I didn't know that when you called me on Monday, March 29, 2021 to be transferred to room service that this would be the last time I would speak to you. I would like to thank you for being so kind to me. For always having a kind encouraging word and your gentle spirit to go along with it. You would always take the time to ask me how I was doing when you called; and when you were here at the hospital volunteering, you would always stop by the PBX (Operator's window) to say hello with that warm smile of yours, that also made me smile. You are a staple in this community that will be missed. May Comfort, Peace and Blessings be with your family and friends. Continue to rest in God's loving arms. I miss and love you.  Cynthia

Sweet Betty! When my husband, Robert, and I first moved to Douglasville from California, we met Betty and her dear sister Ruth through my work at the Cultural Arts Council, where they were both dedicated volunteers. Right from the start, Betty treated us like old friends - kind, loving, funny and so incredibly gracious. She embraced us and made us feel so welcome and so much a part of things. She told us wonderful stories about her life, and about life in Douglasville, with that incredible twinkle in her eye. We will remember her smile and her laugh forever. We love you, Betty. 

Oh my goodness, what an extraordinary person!  Sam, your Mom could light up a room with her smile and grace.   A truly sweet soul.  If we had more people like your Mom, the world would solve so many problems!  She could talk to anyone, and make them feel like she really cared about them.  
We lost our Dad, Jack Richardson, 8 years ago and it gets easier with time, but we will always miss them.

Betty was one of the first ladies I met when I moved to Georgia.  She  worked with my Mom and Mother in law as Pink Ladies at the Hospital.  She gave me a wedding shower, what a lovely, kind lady!


My thoughts and prayers are with the Noland family.  Betty was one of the most loving and giving people I have ever met.  She will be greatly missed.

I got to know Betty through my late wife's volunteer work with the local Humane Society back in the 70's.   I encountered her frequently at the hospital, and occasionally got to sit with her in the cafeteria.   I maintained contact with her through the decades, and last visited her in early March with my new love, Ginger Lou Fulton.   She was the pure embodiment of a classic, cultured and charming southern gentlewoman. 

Sending our prayers for the loss of dear Betty.  May God comfort you as you remember a life well lived.

My deepest sympathy to the Noland family.  Betty was the epitome of a Southern Lady.  Her huge smile wrapped everyone in her warmth and genuine care.  One of my most fond memories of Betty is attending Sunday School with my mother when visiting and Betty being in the class. She had been my own teacher decades before. Douglas County has lost a treasure.

Betty Nolan was one of those rare people who could light up a room and brighten your day by her presence.  She was a "Pink Lady" at Douglas Hospital when I worked there in the late 70's, early 80's.  She always had a kind word and was so supportive of everything we were doing to keep the hospital going.  She will be missed by so many and was loved by so many!!  Thank you Betty Noland for a life well lived.

My prayers are with you and your family in the upcoming days. We have lost another valuable piece of Douglasville's history.  I am still in shock over hearing about Betty.  She had called me last week when she heard about Mama and we talked for about an hour.  She and Mama went to high school together.  I always enjoyed her phone calls.  We both loved to talk! She would drop by the office occasionally and check on me.  She always said she considered us part of her family since our pasts were so intertwined with one another.  I have such sweet memories of her Father, Mr. Wright, when he was postmaster and the Easter baskets he would give me when I was a little girl,  and Bob, our dear friend who always handled my our family's legal work.

Betty had such a sweet spirit and was the epitome of Southern charm and grace. I will miss our phone calls and the visits.

Sam and family ,So sorry for the loss of your Mama but what a celebration in Heaven it must have been.  Your mama was such a sweet lady and friend to many. Lots of great memories from over the years. Loved how she talked about double dating with my Grandparents  and how she and your Daddy brought my parents to Douglasville. Many great memories! 
She will be missed by many.
