Alice Julia Camp

Mrs. Alice Julia Gossett Camp, age 91, of Winston, Georgia, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020. She was born May 1, 1929 in Easley, South Carolina. Mrs. Camp enjoyed traveling and camping, but her true love was spending time with her family. She loved cooking and preparing the dinner every Sunday. Christmas was her special time of year. Mrs. Camp enjoyed collecting teapots. She was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church.

Mrs. Camp was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Hugh Camp; her parents, Thomas and Alice Gossett; brothers, Alvin Gossett, Thomas Gossett and Charles Gossett; and her sisters, Evelyn Gossett Hurst, Doris Gossett Humphries and Ruth Gossett Culpepper.

She is survived by her children, John Thomas (Vicki) Camp, Charles Royce (Nina) Camp, David Hugh (Judy) Camp, Alice Darlene “Dee” Camp (Eddy) Collins, Linda Faye Camp Palmer, Jeffrey Allen (Sherri) Camp, and Curtis Neal (Gwen) Camp; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Reverend Josh Nelson. Musical selections will be rendered by Ivan and Ros Winslett. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
