Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freddie McCain officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011 at York City Cemetery in York, AL with Rev. John Evangelista officiating and Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday prior to service time.

Mrs. DeLoach was born August 18, 1919 in York, AL and was a graduate of Sumter County High. She attended nursing school and spent her adult life in the nursing profession caring for others. In her earlier years, she was active in the Women’s Society of Christian Service and the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. DeLoach enjoyed playing tennis and golf and was a devout Methodist.
Mrs. DeLoach is predeceased by her parents, Richard Taylor Estes and Maude Sims Lockwood; her husband, Fletcher Mims DeLoach and brothers and sisters, Maurine Morris, Margaret Boyd, Richard Estes, Eugene Estes and Frances Taylor.
Survivors include two children, Fletcher M. DeLoach, Jr. of Huntsville, AL and Mary Anne Burkett and her husband, James Truman Burkett of Dothan, AL; three grandchildren, Fletcher Mims DeLoach III of Huntsville, AL, James Adam Burkett and his wife, Dana Davis Burkett of Memphis, TN and John Eliot Burkett of New York, NY; two great-grandchildren, Ellen Louise Burkett and Davis Hayes Burkett, both of Memphis, TN; a beloved sister, Janet Estes Griffin of Duluth, GA; two dear cousins, Myrtle Butts of St. Louis, MO and Mary Ellen Allen of Gardendale, AL.
