Carl Ellis

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Woodlawn Memory Gardens in Ozark with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 206 West Troy Street, Dothan, AL, 36303.

Mr. Ellis was born November 7, 1928 in Tifton, Georgia and lived the early years of his life in Alapaha, Georgia. He was a resident of the Wiregrass area for many years. Mr. Ellis was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He served his country with pride before retiring in 1966 after 20 years of service.

He is predeceased by his parents, Joshua and Gertrude Stinson Ellis, his first wife, Philippa Ruth Ellis and a son, William Michael Ellis.

Survivors include his wife, Delores J. Ellis of Chancellor; a son, Carl Ellis, Jr. (Carol) of Albany, GA and two grandsons, Daniel Brian Ellis of Chicago and Benjamin Corey Ellis of Gainesville, FL; several stepchildren and step-grandchildren also survive.
