Delbert “Del” Steffes, age 87 of Dorr, went to be with the Lord Monday November 13, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; parents Joseph and Stella Steffes; siblings Marie Beck, Angela Young, Marge Bowman, Don Steffes, Joe Steffes, Kay Bright, and Leola Peters. He is survived by his children Rhonda (Tim) Weber, Chris (Dennis) Arndt, Steve Steffes, Kate (Colin Selvig) Manning, Randy (Kristie) Steffes; grandchildren Joel (Robin), Dani (Drew), Alan (Chelsea), Matthew, Samantha, Klayton (Hannah), Derrick (Grace), Sarah, Isabelle, Johanna, Caleb, Charlotte; great-grandchildren Everly, Evie, Cat, Waylon; siblings Arline DeLange, Clifford (Barb) Steffes, Linda Belknap, Michelle (Rick) VanKampen; sisters-in-law Nancy Steffes Glaslee, Linda Steffes; and many extended family and friends.
Del was a United States Army veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a Teamster. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to Polka Pops, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Railside Assisted Living for their loving care and support during the last three years.
A time to visit with family and friends will be held 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home (4330 18th St. Dorr), with a Rosary to be said at 5:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2023 at St. Mary’s Visitation Catholic Church (2459 146th Ave. Byron Center), with Fr. Christopher Derda Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice.
