Thomas "Tom" "Gomez" Charles Diaz

Tom's life was a testament to love and devotion. As a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, he touched the hearts of many. His strong Catholic faith guided him daily, and he found solace in praying the rosary. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Tom served his country with honor.

In his professional life, he dedicated many years to Texaco as an oil gauger, later continuing his commitment to service at LP&L as a meter reader until his retirement. Outside of work, Tom had a passion for gardening, nurturing his plants with care. He cherished time with family and friends, enjoying simple pleasures like cutting grass and tending to his beloved donkey, Tex. Tom's legacy of love, faith, and service will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of fifty five years, Gail Landry Diaz; two sons, Jason Diaz (Heather) and Brad Diaz (Jennifer); his pride and joy, his two grandchildren, Wyatt and Olivia Diaz; two siblings, Marguerite "Louise" Diaz Aucoin and Sidney Diaz (Cindy); two sisters-in-law, Bridget Daigle and Gina Tripode (David), one brother-in-law, Chad Blanchard, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Camille and Marguerite Hebert Diaz; three sisters, Andrienne Diaz Gooden, Camille Diaz Rollands, and Carolyn Diaz; four brothers-in-law, Allen Gooden, Alvin LeBlanc, Carol Aucoin, and Ronald "Patot" Daigle; mother-in-law, Helen Beneditto, and his father-in-law, Roy Pete Landry.

The family would like to thank Dr. Keith Landry and his staff, Cardinal Hospice, and Cindy Blanchard.

A visitation will be held at Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Plattenville, LA, on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial will follow in the St. Anne Catholic Church Cemetery in Napoleonville, LA.
