She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. She adored all of her grands. Family is what she lived for.
She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Blanchard and Phyllis Schexnayder; one son, Danny Melancon (Brenda); eleven grandchildren, Kevin Blanchard, Dionne Esneault, Byron Blanchard, Gretchen Nizzo, Rachael Deerman, Meghan Yerby, Brittney Melancon Booth, Beaux Melancon, Brandy Porter, Brooke Weeks, Boone Melancon; and seventeen great-grandchildren; Dylan Blanchard, Olivia Blanchard, Gage Esneault, Jace Esneault, Grace Nizzo, Georgia Nizzo, William Nizzo, Carson Deerman, Ava Rae Deerman, Brennan Yerby, Allyson Yerby, Chloe Booth, Brody Melancon, Macy and Kennedy Porter, Danny Weeks, Brelynn Melancon along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alida and Camille Falcon; husband, Leroy Peter Melancon; and nine brother and sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff at Azalea Estates Assisted Living, and Francois Bend Memory Care for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 for 9:00 am at St. Jules Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial for 11:00 am in Belle Rose. Interment to follow in the church mausoleum. Father Tomi Thomas will be officiating.
