February 14, 2014. He was a native and resident of Donaldsonville. He had a brilliant
mind and a gentle soul. He had a great love for the outdoors which included hunting
and fishing. Raphael was a proud graduate of Nicholls State University, where he
earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He became a certified public accountant
and later obtained a Master's Degree in Business Administration. He went on to earn
his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University, where he graduated Cum Laude. While
earning his law degree, he interned at the Department of Justice in New Orleans. He
was inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu honorary fraternity as well as the Golden Key Honor
Society. Raphael was a member of the Louisiana Association for Justice, Baton Rouge
Bar Association and Louisiana State Bar Association. Most recently, he was a
practicing attorney with the law firm of Walters, Papillion, Thomas and Cullens in Baton
Rouge.
Raphael is survived by his parents, Mary Marcotte and Raphael "Ray" Juneau, Sr. of
Donaldsonville, and sister and brother-in-law, Monique Juneau and Jeffrey Chiasson of
Baton Rouge. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He
was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Felix and Barbara Marcotte, and
paternal grandparents, Linus and Olinde Juneau.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 5:00p.m.-9:00p.m. at Ourso
Funeral Home in Donaldsonville. On Tuesday, February 18, 2014 visitation will be held
at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville at 9:00a.m. until Mass of
Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow in church mausoleum.
