Mercedes Marie Mistretta

Mercedes Hernandez Mistretta, 74, a native of Paincourtville and resident of Donaldsonville, passed away on December 9, 2016. Mercedes was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She loved visiting with friends and family, cooking while talking on the phone, and animals. Mercedes loved with a love that was more than love. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, P.B. Mistretta Jr.; two daughters; Renee Mistretta and Michelle Curley and husband, Patrick; one son, Pasquale Mistretta III and wife, Shirley; three grandchildren, John Mistretta, Stephen Peltier, and Lauren Mistretta Montes and special friend, Rosalie Mistretta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter “Buck” and Odile Dugas Hernandez. Pallbearers will be Bryan Mistretta, Carlos Marino, Ronnie Estey, Clint Templet, Pasquale Mistretta III and Patrick Curley. Visitation will be held at Ascension Catholic Church in Donaldsonville on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 8am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Conducting the service will be Rev Paul Yi.
