She was the first of seven children born to Philippe and Marie Mabile Dugas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philippe and Marie Dugas; husband, Ivy J. Dugas, Sr.; son, Michael J. Dugas; daughter, Kathy Acosta; son-in-law Gerald Sentilles; brothers, Pierre (Gladys), Edwin, Jean, and Edward George Dugas(Caroline): Sister, Marie Landry(Ray); nieces, Gail Giroir and Arlene Dugas: nephews, Mark Dugas and Craig Landry.
She is survived by her sister, Edith Webre; sisters-in-law, Carolyn, Jane, and Nora Dugas; sons, Wayne (Sue), Terry (Penny), and Ivy Dugas, Jr. (Desiree); daughters, Myra Sentilles, Donna Dugas, and Vera Sanchez (Eric); daughter-in-law, Sue Dugas; son-in-law, Kenny Acosta; grandchildren, Brett and Blake Heidelberg, Jeff and Chris Shelton, Kristen Scarborough, John Sentilles, Jeremy and Brandon Acosta, Megan Ourso, Dana Tarver, Lauren Donald, Wayne David Dugas Jr., Aimee Zeringue, Eric Paul Sanchez, Jr., Terry Paul Dugas, Jr., Brady Dugas, Seth Joffrion, Renee Rolfsen, Peyton Stieffel, Alexis Robert, and Danielle Dugas; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; and twenty nieces and nephews.
She was a devout Catholic who attended mass daily with her husband, loved working at Oschwald’s Pharmacy, doing alterations, playing Bourre’ with a special group of ladies, dancing, and watching the Cubs, LSU, and Saints.
The pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be: Brett and Blake Heidelberg, Jeremy and Brandon Acosta, Wayne David Dugas Jr., John Sentilles, Eric Paul Sanchez, Jr., Terry Paul Dugas, Jr., Brady Dugas, and Seth Joffrion.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 11:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial for 1:00 pm at Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville. Interment to follow in the church mausoleum. Father Thomas Ranzino will be officiating.
