Frances "Dago" Salamoni Westerman

Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a graduate of Ascension Catholic High School and attended Nicholls State University. Frances was a band member for both high school and college. Frances was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all sports with LSU being her favorite. She was very well known for her athletic skills with softball being her specialty. She played up until her fifties on several teams including: Donaldsonville Squaws, Sonny's Lounge, Baker Saints, and Barbera Bucs. Even after moving to Texas her softball career continued and she played on several teams there. When she came back to Louisiana she joined the Senior Women's softball league in Baton Rouge.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 59 years, Russell Westerman; two children, Dana Westerman Aucoin (Charles) and Kurt Westerman (Heidi); three grandchildren, Camren Aucoin (Courtenay), Ashley Westerman, and Samantha Aucoin; one great grandchild, Madison Aucoin and her brother, Nazern "N.J." Salamoni (Sandra).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lena Leoni Salamani and her in-laws, Camille Sr. and Lillie Chamberlain Westerman.

The family would like to thank Dr. Charles Bolotte and his staff and the staff at Journey Hospice of Houma.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville from 10:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm. Interment to follow in the church mausoleum.
