Everett Stapler Jr, 79, of Donaldsonville, Louisiana, passed away on November 10, 2023 surrounded by family. Born on September 25, 1944, in New Hope, AL, he was the son of the late Everett Stapler Sr and Edna Bumgardner.
Everett had a fulfilling career, working as a police officer in his early years and later becoming a Utility Supervisor for Peoples Water Service. He dedicated many years to his profession and made a significant impact in his community.
Outside of work, Everett had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He coached his sons and various sports teams through the years. He loved working as a road course race official during his spare time and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. Spending time with his grandkids and watching his grandson play baseball were some of his favorite pastimes. Everett also found solace in reading his bible, which provided him with guidance and comfort.
The family would like to thank the countless family, friends, and especially his neighbors for always checking in and watching out for him. He was loved by everyone he met.
Everett is survived by his loving children, Cameron Stapler and wife Kristie, Chad Stapler and wife Addie, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Katelyn Stapler and partner Jared, Cole Stapler and wife Morgan, and Kelsey Stapler and fiancé Hunter. He was also a proud great-grandfather to William Everett Stapler (Wes). Everett is further survived by his sisters, Bobbie Jean Tibbett and Nell Wallingsford.
Everett was preceded in death by his beloved wives, Susan Stapler and Ida Mae Lear, as well as his sisters Carolyn Butler and Peggy Goodson.
A funeral service honoring Everett's life will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville, LA, from 9am to noon. The compassionate staff at Ourso Funeral Home will assist the family during this difficult time.
Everett Stapler Jr will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
