She enjoyed playing softball and was the life of any party! She was the "social media" before social media became popular. She enjoyed laughing while being with her family and friends the most.
She is survived by her loving husband Edward Hidalgo; three sons, Shane Anthens (Beth), John Thibodeaux (ex-wife Danielle) and Joey Thibodeaux (Tasha); step-daughter, Christy Phillips (Greg); two sisters, Diane Voiron (Louis Sr.) and Brenda L. Prejean; two brothers, Roy Landry, Jr. and Brent Landry; eleven grandchildren, Christopher, Caden, Emmalyn, Clay, Braxton, Chloe, Ashton, Brendie, Darby, Brad "BJ" Jr. and Austin; one great grandson, Kai; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Roy Landry, Sr.; guardian, Mae Rousseau; stepson, Brad Hidalgo; sister, Mary "Mergie" L. Randazzo.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Chateau D'ville, especially Lainey LeBoeuf for their care and compassion.
Colette's sons would like to give an enormous thanks to the love of her life, Edward Hidalgo for the love, and support he has shown her over the many years they were together.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 5:30 pm until 9:00 pm at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville, then to continue on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 8:30 am until the Mass of Christian Burial for 11:00 am at St. Jules Catholic Church in Belle Rose. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Father Tomi Thomas will be officiating.
