Charles “Coonie” Joseph Haynes, 69, a native and resident of Donaldsonville, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family by his pool, watching LSU and Saints Football, going to the casino, and playing Bingo. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his former wife, Mary “Jeannie” Haynes; two daughters, Amber Haynes Sanchez (Lance) and Jessica Haynes (Travis); seven grandchildren, Jawan Haynes, Kaiden Sanchez, Jakel Haynes, Kyle Sanchez, Traden Howard, Averie Joseph, and Kane Kling; three sisters, Theresa Williams (Ronnie) of Donaldsonville, Dawn Renfrow (Ray) of TX, and Sheila Hendrix of AR, and one brother, Dennis Haynes of Gonzales. He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Haynes; one sister, Deborah Haynes; one brother-in-law, Neal Hendrix, and his grandparents, Agnes and Alvis Haynes. The family would like to thank OLOL Hospital, Bayou Home Health, and Amedysis Hospice. Pallbearers will be: Travis Howard, Lance Kling, Geroid Falcon, Dwayne Cedotal, Jason Haynes, and Ray Renfrow. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ronald Williams and Hunter Cedotal. A graveside services for Coonie will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 11:30 at Ascension Catholic Cemetery.
