Chad Michael Nichols, 37, died on Monday, January 26, 2015. Chad was an amazing person. He was a loving and devoted father, son, brother, and uncle. He was so loving and caring. He would give the shirt off of his back for family and friends. He had a personality that would draw people in and made you feel as if he knew you forever. His smile was so beautiful that when he smiled you had no choice but to smile with him. He was always smiling.
He is survived by mother and step-father, Myra Nichols Gros and Marvin Gros; one son, Cade Hernandez and his mother,Sunshine Barcelona; two sisters, Casey Gros-Hood and husband, Blake Hood, Sr., and Deshone Pfister; two brothers, Marvin Gros, Jr. and wife, Jill Weil-Gros and Aaron Gros and wife, Dana Comeaux Gros; two nieces, Cadence Hood and Alyssa Gros; four nephews, Alex Gros, Brennan Gros, Sage Reine, and Blake Hood, Jr.; and one uncle, Michael Nichols and wife Barbara.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Annie Nichols, Ezal Gros and Ridley Gros, Sr.; one aunt, Bessie Morris; two uncles, Ridley Gros, Jr. and Carrol Aucoin, Sr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville and on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. celebrated by Rev. Paul Yi. Entombment to follow in church mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Ron Chachati, Derrick Parker, Jonathan Aucoin, Corey Gautreaux, Brandon Solete, Chad Daigle, Ryan Weil, and Toby Casso.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cade Hernandez and Bryan Simoneaux.
