You were my favorite woman in the world.  You were my mentor and the best Shirl ever!  I miss you dearly and I pray you are resting in peace.  Forever you niece :-) Marla

I worked with Shirley for many years .
First as a young buyer who helped me develop my vision and as I matured, she helped me to manage my business.
I always looked forward to our lunches or dinners when I was in NYC. I loved our life discussions.
 She was so full of energy and so much fun.

Im so beyond sad to hear this news. Ive lived in the same building as Shirley for the last 10 years. I thought she was in her 60's when we met.. She was the best. Im going to miss her greatly and seeing her lovely face around... RIP sweet Shirley

Aunt Shirley....
You were the greatest Aunt (1st cuz once removed-whatever).
You were my second mom, my secret keeper & my mentor.
You loved me unconditionally and always made me feel like I was 1 of your own.
You truly understood me and always cheered me on.
You were by far the strongest and most vibrant woman I have ever known.
I promise to carry your beautiful spirit with me always.
Having you in my life was a true blessing.
Thank you for all of the love and joyous times we shared.
My heart hurts and I will miss you every day for the rest of my life.

It was only last year that I was fortunate enough to meet Shirley as a co-worker at the bookshop. I marveled at her energy and love of life. Shirley quickly  assumed the role of our resident children’s story time hostess. Those lucky children were transported into whatever book Shirley read to them. My last and fondest memory is of Shirley dressed as a fairy princess, as part of a themed birthday party, complete with her tiara and silver sequined shoes. Thanks Shirley for giving me good reason to smile when I remember you💕

I haven’t known Shirley for a long time but I can say I never met an 84 year old with more enthusiasm and energy.   We would spend our first 10 minutes on Tuesdays at  the bookstore discussing fashion, comparing labels, which daughter she “borrowed “ her accessories  from and reminiscing about the good of days on seventh avenue before she would pick up the broom and insist on cleaning again .   She was so funny!   She was so excited to give Adam Schiff A tour the day her came to the store.  I will miss her terribly !
