Son of the late Harry M and Florence (Tucker) Zisman, he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 28 years, Maureen Brumond Zisman, and loved brother and best friend, Dr. Myron Zisman. He is survived by his loved children Michael (Esi) of Glen Head, NY and Marlene Zisman, and grandchildren, Zoe and Jackson Clark of Toronto, Canada. He is also survived by his loving step-daughters, Doreen and Tracy Waxon of Austin, TX.
Born in the Bronx on September 18, 1937 and raised primarily in Long Beach, Mr. Zisman was a graduate of Columbia College and Columbia University School of Law. He served in the US Army from 1961-1962. His professional life as an attorney consisted of public service, public corporations (CBS, Inc and Grumman Corporation) and private practice, including as a shareholder of Winstead, Inc and The Zisman Law, PC, a firm he founded.
An avid reader and eclectic writer, he authored numerous columns concerning sports and human interest in various local publications, as well as scholarly works relating to banking law in legal journals and a comprehensive guide to federal bank enforcement and receivership, published by Matthew Bender, Inc.
Locally, prior to his retirement, he served as a General Cousel to the Greater Irving/Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce. A member of the Arts Board and the Board of Irving Cares, Inc. of Irving, and became a member of the Dallas and Irving/Las Colinas Rotaries.
He became a life-long friend of Bill W. in 1976, to whom he was always grateful.
He will rest at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, NY where he will be reunited, forever – and a day, with the love of his life, Maureen.
