It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Jean Willis, who peacefully left this world on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the age of 90.
Mary Jean Willis was born on July 30, 1933, in Woodlake, California, to George and Iva Boothe. She attended Woodlake high School and later married Lee Willis of 62 years, she dedicated her life to her husband and family, serving as a homemaker for 60 years. Mary was a loving mother to three children, a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, and a doting great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. Her unwavering support for her children and grandchildren was evident in her attendance at all their sports and activities. She never missed a game!
Mary’s other great love was gardening. Her yard was a testament to her green thumb, with beautiful flowers blooming year-round. Her legacy will forever be intertwined with the vibrant colors and fragrant blossoms she nurtured.
Mary Jean Willis is survived by her devoted husband, Lee Willis, and their children Steve Strand, Mark Willis, and Karen Weaver. Her cherished grandchildren include Stephen Strand, Sarah White, Timothy Strand, Allee Weaver, Emilee Weaver, Tyler Willis, Megan Willis. Mary’s great-grandchildren Reed Strand, Elliott Strand, Ellery White, Norah White, and Presley Ledbetter. She was predeceased by her parents, George Boothe, and Iva Boothe.
The funeral service for Mary Jean Willis will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Smith Mountain Cemetery in Dinuba, California. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the viewing at 9:45 a.m., followed by the services at 10:00 a.m. Afterward, lunch will be offered at 1900 Bergren Court, Kingsburg, California.
