were John Lamb Donaldson and Angela Cleo Donaldson(Cook). Her siblings were Jack, Inez,
Ted and Jerry. Frances was raised in Paso Robles, California where her parents owned a jewelry
store, she helped and worked in the family business from a young age. She was always very
mature for her age. She loved babysitting at the Paso Robles Inn for various military families.
When she was in high school her parents moved to Dinuba, California to open another jewelry
Store in Dinuba is where she made lifelong friends.In 1949 she met the love of her life Robert Schmidt in Fresno, California, at the Alaska drive-in where she was a carhop. Five weeks later they were married on Easter, April 17, 1949. They settled in Dinuba, California, where she was an instant mother to his two daughters, Charlene and Karen. Later in 1951 Valerie was born then in 1954 Diana came along.
She was the best and most talented mother ever. She was an excellent seamstress, making all
of her daughters' clothes. She was a wonderful cook, always PTA president, room mother and
more. Active in all aspects of her daughter's lives. She was a lot of fun and took her family to
Disneyland the year it opened. And every year after that, faithfully. She spent lots of time in the
mountains camping with her family and going to the coast. Later in life she owned several local
businesses and was state president of the CARCH organization.
Frances is survived by daughters, Valerie Schmidt and Charlene Schofield; grandchildren, Jill, Janna, Amy, Heath and Anthony; great grandchildren, Jay, Jonathan, Joseph, Victoria and Jeran Vasquez, and Jordan, Gregory, Zachary and Aaron; great great grandchildren, Cassidy Rose and Lauryn Elizabeth. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughters, Karen and Diana; granddaughter, Carrie and great grandson, Blake.
