Cheryl was at her best in the hours leading up to that moment, full of excitement, every minute joyful, she was in close company with loved ones. It wasn’t just the thrill of being in Paris. It was being with and traveling with friends and family that mattered most to Cheryl. That was where Cheryl most loved to be, and for her, these were the best of times.
Everyone who knew Cheryl was touched by her kindness, generosity, and spirit. Cheryl was loved by the many she touched in her professional career as an artist, designer and crafter, an occupation she thoroughly enjoyed. Cheryl was highly regarded and recognized as an expert in her field and frequently was a guest artist on Aleene’s Creative Living TV show. Cheryl was also featured for her work in many magazines. Born in Coeur d’Alene Idaho, she moved to Dinuba, California in 1962 and became an active member in the Dinuba Chamber of Commerce and Dinuba Historical Society. From 1985 to 1997, she owned Designs Unlimited, a small business in Dinuba, and during that time Cheryl, her Mom, and her Dad designed many unique items many friends have in their homes to this day. She also spent time recently as a substitute teacher for the Kings Canyon School District. Cheryl was 61, a graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Cheryl struggled these last few years with her health, but was determined to make the best of time she had. After a hit and run accident made her normal routines hard to manage, Cheryl stayed cheerful and always hoped for the best. Tomorrow would always be a brighter day because she loved her family and friends and they loved her. Her needs were modest but her heart was always full. She will be remembered most for her casual, cheerful, “Let’s enjoy this day and take life as it comes,” spirit. Having Cheryl in our lives was a gift to all of us, and the best gift we can return to Cheryl is to continue in happiness and cherish memories of her for the treasure she was. She will be missed.
