Alton was born, Alton Merle Haile, on March 11, 1934, in Turlock, California to parents Oley and Helen Haile. He loved all sports in High School and lettered in baseball, basketball, and football. He met the Love of his life in church and married Sandra Sue Stotts on June 19, 1953, at the Nazarene church in Denair, California. They purchased their first home in Turlock, California where Alton started his career with Rainbow Bread as a supervisor. During his 15 years with Rainbow Bread, he was relocated to both Fresno and Merced while also serving his country for 2 years in the United States Army. He then moved to Dinuba California where he opened “Rocky’s” Drive-In from 1968 to 1985. These were most wonderful years where Alton and Sandra raised their two daughters, were very active in the Dinuba Church of the Nazarene and served on the Church Board. Alton was also an active supporter of Dinuba High School, serving on the Board of Trustees and running the “chains” at the High school’s football games. Alton was a Senior Member of the Dinuba Kiwanis Club, and former Director of Chamber of Commerce. He ended his career as a Real Estate Agent with Just Company Real Estate. Alton and Sandra retired in Visalia, California where they enjoyed gardening, entertaining with family and friends, and traveling.
Alton loved his family and is survived by his wife Sandra Haile, his two daughters, Tamara Cochran married to Eric Cochran, Teresa Cress married to John Cress, two grandchildren, Bradley Cochran married to Adeline Cochran, and Tyler Cress, his sister Beverly London and sister-in-law Ginger Jenkins.
A celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 1:00pm at Dopkins Chapel in Dinuba California with the viewing on Wednesday October 25, 2023, between 4:00-7:00 pm at Dopkins Chapel.
