Theresa Bettie Amero

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Theresa (Betty) Bettie Amero. She passed away peacefully at Digby General Hospital on December 25, 2023 with her family by her side. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and an aunt. She was also a friend to all that knew her.

Betty worked for many years at the Digby Pines. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Especially enjoyed playing bingo on her birthday at her apartment with her family. Often she would put recipes in the Clare Shopper that people looked forward to seeing.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Brenda Nickel (British Columbia); sisters, Linda Sullivan (Church Point), Blanche Rice (Weymouth North), Juanita Gavel (Hilltown), Judy Amero (Weymouth); brother, Wayne Amero (Meteghan) and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Russell and Lillie, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Arnold; son, Ricky (Winnipeg); sisters, Eunice, Patsy and Nora as well as brothers, Raymond, Dennis, Keith and Richard.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8pm, January 2, 2023 at Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. Funeral service on January 3, 2023 at 11am in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Father John McPherson presiding with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Plympton.
