Wright, Roger Wayne, 60, of Clementsvale, Anna. Co., N.S. passed away peacefully at home on April 2nd, 2013. Roger was born November 29th, 1952 in Digby, N.S., the youngest son of the late Leslie Rhoderick and Betty Blanche (nee Kingswell) Wright. Roger graduated from the Annapolis Royal Vocational school in June 1971 and went on to be a self-employed carpenter in his earlier years. Roger was one of the people responsible for the planning and construction of the present Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 22; where he also acted as bartender in the early 1970’s. Later Roger was involved in the construction of the former Canax Mall, now the YMCA. In 1978, Roger became a school bus driver for the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board for over 30 years. Through his love of animals, Roger became a self-employed farmer. Roger was a former member of the Maritime Ox Pulling Association and Digby County Exhibition and currently a member of the NSFA. He was well known as an Ox Teamster successfully teaming and participating in ox pulling competitions from an early age. Roger is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary “Rose” (nee Ross) Wright, daughter Jennifer (William) Hardwick, Lequille; Jessica (Wade) Wright-Amero and precious granddaughter, Jade Amero, Clementsvale. He is also survived by sister, Beverly (Sheldon) Hannam, Allains Creek; brother, Barry (Jean) Wright, London, Ontario; several nieces and nephews, along with brother and sister in-laws. Roger was predeceased by brother, Steven B. Wright and stepfather, Charles V. Marshall and a niece in infancy. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9 pm, today from Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street, Digby, (245-2525) with Funeral Service at 2pm, Saturday April 6th from the Digby Baptist Church. Rev Donald Robertson presiding. Interment in Maple Vista Cemetery, Clementsport, NS. Donations in memory of Roger may be made to the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
