Hankinson, Roger Borden, age 75, of Weymouth, Digby Co; passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born June 2, 1945, in Middleton, he was a son of the late Curtis and Vera (Tupper) Hankinson.
He attended Nova Scotia Institute of Technology to become a Heavy Duty/Truck and Transport mechanic and started his career at Roy Judge Construction. Later, he worked at Fundy Gypsum and Weymouth Motors Ltd. From there, he became the Supervisor of Transportation for the Digby District School Board for several years, and began Roger Hankinson Trucking and later formed Hankinson’s Logging Ltd. with his two sons. He was a devoted son , husband, father and grandfather. He married his true love, Marguerite, on November 4, 1967. Together, they enjoyed life, faced life’s challenges, raised a family, ran a business and contributed to their community. Roger was an active and honorary member of the Weymouth Fire Dept. for the past 57 years. He was always willing to help those in need in his community, circle of friends and church.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Marguerite, sons Sandy (Muriel) and Leo (Dianne), Weymouth; grandchildren, Leah (Anthony Bauer), Lake Echo; Curtis, Bedford; Scott, Weymouth; Sarah, Halifax. He will also be missed by his brother David (Linda), Paradise; sister Jane (Leonard Penner), Winnipeg; as well as many other cherished extended family members.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jayne’s Funeral Home, Weymouth North. A Celebration of Roger’s Life will be held at 2pm August 21 from Havelock Wesleyan Church Rev.
