(Mike) Francis Michael Wells, age 60, died suddenly on Friday, July 23, 2021 at his home in Digby, Nova Scotia. A gregarious and generous man, he is remembered by his wife Lynda Giles, step-sons Casey, Matthew, Jonathan, and Kristopher, and grandchildren Skylar and Sloane. Mike is survived by his sister Charlene, brother Ernest, and found-family Wendy, Dan, Steve, Barry, and Michael Gould. He is preceded by his brothers Bruce, David, and Ken (Gould).
A stranger to no one for long, Mike had the uncanny ability to make fast friends out of new acquaintances. His love of the outdoors, camping, fishing, boating, and travelling took him on his motorcycle across Canada and back. He called multiple provinces his home, and eventually settled in Nova Scotia with his wife of 19 years, Lynda, and their beagle, Banjo. He worked for more than thirty years with Honda, Canada in Alliston, Ontario, followed by a short stint with Gidney’s Fisheries Ltd., and finally with Dan Bonnell Trucking in Nova Scotia where he was recognized by customers across the Digby Neck by his beagle mask. His sense of humour was characterized by his sharp wit and love of terrible, terrible puns. He was a defender of the underdog and the goalie’s net, and the sort of man who showed up at your door, Timmies for two in hand. He will be remembered for his cooking, boyish smile, and reliable strength, but above all his boundless kindness.
“Bye for now,” Mike.
