Blackmore, Gloria Rose (Thomas) of Digby, Nova Scotia Passed away September 14, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Digby, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Anne (Dennison) Thomas.
Gloria is survived by husband, George; daughters, Susan Simms, Joyce Dennison; sister, Bessie Carpenter; brother, George (Betty) Thomas; grandchildren, Andy, Matthew, Travis, Gillian; great-grandchildren, Emily, Josh and Nicholas. Besides Gloria’s parents she was predeceased by Sons, Bruce in infancy, Terry; brothers, Arthur, Roy, Richard, Archie; sisters, Alice, Mildred, Pearl, Helen and Elizabeth.
Gloria in her younger years work at the Scotia Restaurant as a waitress. She was a cook at CFB Cornwallis Base. She also worked at Frenchy’s and owned her own flower and gift shop. In later years she worked at the Conway Quick Stop. Gloria enjoyed flower arranging, crafts and restoring antique furniture. But most of all her passion was gardening and her love for animals. Gloria enjoyed music, sing-alongs, and family gatherings. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. She loved decorating every room, the smell of turkey dinner, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and everything Christmas. Gloria was a loving wife, and a loving mother to her children, grand children, great grand children, nieces and nephews. She was a great friend to all that knew her. She was kind, caring and compassionate and would help anyone in need. She will truly be missed by all. Forever in our hearts, forever loved. Until we meet again. A special Thank-You to her nephew Greg (Joanne) Thomas, and her niece Patricia Rafuse (Bill) for all their love and support.
There will be no visitation. There will be a small gathering of family and close friends as per her Gloria’s wishes. Burial will take place at a later date.
