Doris Joan Hutchins

HUTCHINS, Doris Joan (VanTassell) - Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday March 16, 2017 in Digby General Hospital. She recently celebrated her 88th birthday surrounded with family and loved ones. The loving wife of the late Walter (Bus) Hutchins, Doris was predeceased by her parents, a brother and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Bonny (Stephen) Kaulback, grandchildren, Andrew (Rebecca) Kaulback and Craig Kaulback; her great grandchildren Andrew Jr. Kaulback and Aiden Wagner; ,several nieces and nephews. Doris was born on March 8, 1929 in Digby, to Harry and Mamie (Muise) VanTassell. She had a passion for travelling, watching various sports – especially golf, baseball (committed Bluejays fan) and yelling “BINGO!” Doris will be remembered for her loving personality, generosity and kind heart. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the Doctor, nurses and staff that provided their services and support during her stay at the hospital. At her request, there will be no funeral service or reception. A graveside committal service will be held at 2pm, Wednesday May 3rd 2017 at Rossway United Baptist Cemetery.
