On April 17, 2025 Diana May Mullen went to be with her savior. Diana was born on January 1,1950 in Hassetts, Nova Scotia. She spent her childhood years in Peterborough, Ontario,which held a special place in her heart. She always had fond memories and stories of her time there, including the time she broke her leg on a tree when sledding. She returned to Nova Scotia as a teenager where she found the love of her life. From that point on Diana and Sankey ran a mink farm and raised their three boys.
Diana had many passions in life, God, her family and her community were at the top of her list. She taught Sunday School and Young peoples at the New Tusket Baptist Church for 50 years impacting the lives of many youth’s lives. She served on many committees that benefited her community and church. She was able to fulfil a life long dream of teaching vacation bible school in Holguin, Cuba. She loved her Cuban family as her own. Diana was an excellent cook, rappie pie being her specialty, and everyone was welcome at her table.
The influence she had on her family, church and community was enormous and her legacy will be felt for generations to come.
She was survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Sankey Mullen. Sons, Chris (Becky), Corey (Christy), Craig (April). Brother, Larry (Darby). She is forever remembered by her grandchildren Kendra, Ethan, Hannah, Lauren, Levon, Camden, Elizabeth, Mya, Hadley and her 2 great-grandchildren, Emerson and Braylin.
She was predeceased by her parents, and her brother Glendon Mullen.
Visitation will be held at New Tusket Baptist church on April 23, 2025 from 6-8 pm. Funeral service will also be held at the New Tusket Baptist Church on April 24, 2025 at 11 am, reception to follow. Reverend Tim O’Blenis to officiate.
Donations in her memory can be made to the New Tusket Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
