Barbara Barbie Winnifred Farnsworth

Farnsworth, Barbara “Barbie” Winnifred – Age 86 of Digby, Passed away peacefully April 11, 2017 in Tideview Terrace on a bright and beautiful day as God was smiling down on her. Born in Digby, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Eula (Cook) Farnsworth. Barb loved her gardens, especially the lilacs, she enjoyed blueberry picking and taking long walks. Family meant everything to her and she loved kids. When Barb went to Tideview she really enjoyed doing whatever she could to help the staff and other residents. She also enjoyed and never missed any activity or event that Tideview put on. Barb is survived by daughter, Joan Stark; granddaughters, Monica Sveinbjornson, Vanessa Stark, Ashlee Stark and great-grandsons, Jaylen and Kylar; sisters, Violet Faithful, Victoria, B.C., Anne Gilmore, Saint John, N.B.; many nieces and nephews, Kirk and Kent Farnsworth, Gloria McBride, Jimmie Cook, David Cook, Judy Best, Paul Cook, Diane Peck, Patty Cole, Peter Cook, David Faithful, Susan Faithful, Ronnie Faithful, Dean Faithful, Brenda Gilmore, Roy Gilmore, Sherry Shortliffe, Marilyn Rice; also many great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides her parents, Barb was predeceased by brothers, Donny Farnsworth, Richard Farnsworth, Victor Farnsworth, Kenneth Farnsworth, Roy Cook; sisters, Leona Muise, Josephine Specht; nieces and nephews, Carolyn Marshall, Samuel Gilmore, George Gilmore, Martin Gilmore and Suzanne Gilmore. Visitation will be 7-9pm on Friday, April 14 from Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby (902-245-2525). Funeral Service at 1pm, Saturday April 15 from Digby Wesleyan Church. Pastor Andrew Maves will preside with interment in Fairview Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Digby Wesleyan Church either Kids for Christ or Digby Wesleyan Youth. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. John Black, nurses and staff of Tideview Terrace Nursing Home especially Heidi White, Bill Walsh, Junior Taylor and Ann Barnaby. The family apologizes if they missed someone that Barbie loved.
