Knapp, Roger William of Dexter, MI died, Friday, December 11, 2015 with his family by his side. He was 74 years of age. He was born in Ann Arbor, MI the son of Gottlieb “Peg” and Nila Knapp. He graduated from Dexter High School in 1959. He married Kathy Rush the day before his birthday on March 17, 1961; they were married for over 54 years. He was a member of the Ann Arbor Fraternal Order of Eagles #2154 and a former member of the Washtenaw County Police Auxiliary. Roger retired from Dexter Stamping after 48 years of service. He loved his camp in L’Anse, MI and enjoyed hunting, relaxing and enjoying the wildlife around him, but especially he enjoyed taking his children, grandchildren and beloved pets on jeep rides through the camp and woods. He will be missed and always cherished by his loving wife Kathy, daughter; Kelley (Barry) Boyes, grandchildren; Jim, Nathan (Julia) and Mandy Knapp, Samantha Augustine and their mother, Carole Augustine, Kayla, Lauren and Ryan Boyes, great grandson; Billy Knapp, sisters; Carol and Karen Knapp and his loving pets; Katie and Callie. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Bill and a brother Dick. The Family will be receive friends at the Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel of Dexter on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday December 16, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Washtenong Memorial Park. There will be a luncheon immediately following the burial service at Ann Arbor Eagles (7881 Jackson Rd.) Those desiring may offer donations to “A Great Day to Be Alive” Chelsea Cancer Center.
