David Gilbert, of Hastings, 71, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday October 17th , at Spectrum Health Hospitals Grand Rapids.
He was born April 19th 1949 in Lansing, the son of late Joel and E. Jane Gilbert.
He was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School and Western Michigan University. He retired from Georgia Pacific Paper Mill. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and golfing with his friends Zig and Wes.
David is survived by his daughter Anna of Dexter, sister Nancy Johnson and husband Eric of Warm Springs, Virginia, brother Gary Gilbert and wife Chris of Mammoth Cave, Kentucky, niece Amy Mulkey of Grosse Pointe Shores, and nephew Chris Gilbert of Auburn Hills.
A service will be held at a later date with Eric Wood officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to a charity of your choice.
