Blanche "Johnny" Ileana Miller

Dexter, MI

Age 93 passed away on Wednesday November 27, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born October 17, 1926 the daughter of Harry Walter and Marie Dora (Spangler) Tinney in Warren, PA. "Johnny" (her nickname since childhood), loved watching and feeding birds as well as walking and picnicking in Hudson Mills Metropark. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. She was skilled at Chinese Checkers and Scrabble. Johnny loved reading, gardening, yard work and had a love of wildflowers. She grew up in Mt. Tabor, Vermont where she and her husband and family often visited in summer and autumn. Johnny loved both her Mt. Tabor and Dexter homes where friends and family were always warmly welcomed. She leaves to cherish her memory: her surviving children, Dave (Deb), Patricia (aka Trish) (Penny), and her daughter-in-law, Mary; granddaughters, Karen (Dave) Vontom and Jennifer (Roy) Berry; five great grandchildren, Katie (Amir) Rahmani, Emma Vontom, Tessa, Alice and Julia Berry; one sister, Mabel Goodrich; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John C. and son, John W. The family would like to thank Arbor Hospice and Visiting Angels for their professional and compassionate care of Johnny during her illness. Friends will be received at Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel, Dexter on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 1 PM to 3 PM and 4 PM to 7 PM. She will be laid to rest with her husband and son in a private burial at Washtenong Memorial Park. The family welcomes flowers or donations in her memory to a charity of choice.
