After serving in the United States Army, Bill became a well-respected coworker and friend throughout his 37 year career with Consumers Power Company. Bill was a hardworking, kind and honest man. Throughout his life, Bill was an avid gardener and woodcutter. Cutting and “bundling” wood at his home in Lake City was one of his favorite pastimes. In his early years he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball and played for Consumers Power Company in a Lansing City League where he made many lifelong friends.
In 1958, he moved his family to DeWitt and helped build their home where they resided for 40 years. Bill was truly a family man. He loved and cared for his family above all else. Bill was, and will continue to be, the foundation of his family. The way he lived his life with respect, integrity, hard work and humor will continue to be the example for generations to come. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather who was always there with a warm hug, big smile and good conversation. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington St., Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, from 10:00 am until service at 12 noon.
Burial will follow at DeWitt Cemetery.
