He was born to Fredrick and Rose (Jablonski) Harder in Lansing, Michigan on May 12, 1933. Known as "Bill", he served in the National Guard for a number of years following the Korean War. Bill worked for 30 plus years for Michigan State University as an accelerator engineer at the Cyclotron Lab, where he also retired.
Bill was an antique collector and a collector of old radios, speaker horns, old television and radio tubes and may other items, and belonged to a Radio club, setting up a booth annually. He also was a gifted woodworking craftsman and made many beautiful pieces. He was a wonderful husband and father and set the example of worshiping the Lord by taking his family to church when the church doors were open. He gave his time and talent to his church and contributed to many Christian organizations and missions. He would tell his family that "absent from the body, present with the Lord!" and keep running the race till Jesus comes or you are called home to be with Him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Margaret Muholland and Helen Beasley.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna (Stephens) Harder; his sister, Elizabeth Baynes; children, Mike Harder, Teresa (Bob) Villarreal, Bill (Coreen) Harder and Gordon (Pam) Harder; and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
According to his wishes, no services will be held at this time.
