Walter Earl Sutton

DeWitt, Michigan

Born October 3, 1915, passed away December 28, 2013 at the age of 98. Walter was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Alta Sutton. He is survived by his son Dudley (Aileen) Elkins; grandchildren, James, Timothy, Suzanne; 4 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Walter was a true gentleman, kind hearted, loved to garden, play golf and fish. He was also a member of Gunnisonville United Methodist Church. During WWII Walter drove ambulance and was one of the first crew’s to enter the concentration camps in Germany. He will be greatly missed by family and friends, and now is resting peacefully in the arms of our Lord and Savior.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Noon at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Gunnisonville United Methodist Church, 2031 E. Clark Road, Bath, MI 48808 or Alzheimer’s Association, Capital Area Region, 5303 S. Cedar Street, Building 1, Lansing, MI 48911 in honor of Walter.
