Thomas E Keener, age 63 was born 12/23/1952 to Ernest and Laura Keener. He passed away peacefully at home on 8/28/2016. Thomas married Debra Braddock on 4/6/1974. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debra; children, Angela Keener, Amy (Chad) Richardson, Annie (Justin) Kobus, Thomas (Melissa) Keener Jr.; grandchildren, Kynan, Ethan, Hunter, Mikayla, Aidan and Lawton. He is also survived by his mother, Laura Alvera; brother, Curt (Sue)Keener; sister, Cynthia (David) Wade; sister-in-law, Darla Keener; brother-in-law, Sam (Carron) Braddock; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by daughter, Amberly; father, Ernest; brother, Ted and stepfather, Frank Alvera. He retired from Lansing Fisher Body. He was able to enjoy his retirement at the lake during the summer and in Gulf Shores during the winter months. One of his greatest achievements in life was being a loving husband, father and grandfather. He wanted to make sure to send a special thanks to brother and sister Tom and Melanie Ashley and an extra special thanks to big brother Del Sanborn. A funeral service will be held September 1, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt Chapel with Pastor Errol Jameson officiating. Interment will follow at South Bingham Cemetery, St. Johns, Michigan. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Heartland Hospice.
