Thomas Edward Buckingham of DeWitt, Michigan, born May 12, 1931 to Richard and Aria (Boch) Buckingham, passed away January 24, 2015 at the age of 83. Mr. Buckingham was a veteran of the United States Army, earning the Korean Service Ribbon, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a Morse code interceptor. He retired after several years as a senior manufacturing engineer for General Motors. As an avid sailor, he raced in many races around the Great Lakes. He enjoyed golf and was a master woodworker. Thomas loved his family very much and will be missed dearly by family, neighbors and friends. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Patricia Buckingham; daughter, Lori Buckingham; son, Steve Buckingham; brothers, James Buckingham and Richard Buckingham; step-sister, Ruth Ballance; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Center Street, in Stockbridge, Michigan. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes DeWitt Chapel.
