Rudolph Duane Schultz, born May 29, 1935 to Rudolph and Mary Helen (Wright) Schultz, was called home to be with the Lord after a brief battle with lymphoma, on April 9, 2013, surrounded by his family. Mr. Schultz loved his family, who always came first, and he loved farming. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in DeWitt and of Ironworkers Local #25. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rudolph, and sister, Margaret Beedy. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Evelyn Marie (Foote), whom he married June 13, 1958; son, Roderick (Sheryl); grandchildren, Joshua (Amy), Erik (Sarah), Justin and Sadie; great-grandchildren, Claire and two who will be born soon; sisters, Barbara Caterino and Virginia (Gary) Wilson. A Service of Word and Praise for the going home of Rudolph Schultz will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Hope Lutheran Church, 1180 W. Herbison Road in DeWitt. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Hope Lutheran Church in memory of Rudolph Schultz.
