Robert William Nordmann, 76, of DeWitt, MI, passed away August 24, 2015. He was born in St. Louis, MO on December 11, 1939 to Bernard and Lucie Nordmann. Robert graduated from St. Louis University where he played basketball. He went on to play for 4 years in the NBA in the early 60’s. Robert was the assistant basketball coach for many years at both Michigan State University and St. Louis University. Later he worked in the computer technology field in Lansing and Jackson. Robert loved spending time with his family, watching MSU sports, and auto racing. He also enjoyed trivia, playing tennis, golf, and poker and was known to appreciate a good prank.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters-in-law, Mary Nordmann and Catherine Nordmann. Surviving to cherish his memory are daughters, Andrea Nordmann, and Marcie (Ryan) Taggart; sons, Robert (Teri) Nordmann, Eric (Alicia) Nordmann, and Matt (Sherri) Nordmann; 8 grandchildren, Michael (Kate) Nordmann, Melissa (Aaron) Hiner, Trey, Tyler and Taya Nordmann, Lexi and Ashley Nordmann, and Addie Taggart; 6 brothers, Bernard (Betty) Nordmann, Bill (Fran) Nordmann, David Nordmann, Larry (Sue) Nordmann, John (Lisa) Nordmann, Chris Nordmann; and sister, Lucie Nordmann, RSCJ.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St, DeWitt, MI with Rev. Robert Irish officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. The family will receive visitors on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the church. A scripture service will be held at 7:30 Friday.

Interment will be at a later date at East Lawn Memory Gardens, Okemos, MI.
