Robert Joseph McAnallen, 47, of DeWitt, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2016. He was born on July 3, 1968 in Lansing, Michigan. Bob attended Waverly High School, Class of 1986 where he was an avid athlete in both wrestling and football. After graduation, he quickly became an entrepreneur owning many businesses in the Lansing area and was known for his exemplary work ethic in everything he did. At an early age, Bob had a great passion for automobiles which he engaged in throughout his life including Ford Mustang reconditioning projects with his two sons.
Bob was very active within the DeWitt community spending time with his sons coaching their football, basketball and baseball teams for many years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne Ann McAnallen. Bob is survived by his wife of 26 years, high school sweetheart, Valerie McAnallen; sons Logan (Brittany Vlahakis) and Parker McAnallen; his father and step-mother, Joseph and Carolyn McAnallen; his sisters, Carol (Walter) Wray, Dianne (David) Jeckewicz; step-sisters, Wendy (Greg) Carrier, Laura McCabe; and many nieces and nephews.
Above all else, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family. Hunting and fishing with his two sons, watching them compete at their favorite sports, and spending weekends at their cottage in Houghton Lake, Michigan were some of their favorite things to do together.
Bob will be dearly missed by family, friends, and all who knew him. His wide, eyes-closed smile will live in our hearts forever.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 am Friday, May 27, 2016 at St Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W Willow Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917 followed by interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and visitors from 6-8 pm Thursday, at Gorsline Runciman DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI 48820 with a Vigil at 8:00 pm. Visitors will also be received one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at the services for Ronald McDonald House, 121 S. Holmes Street, Lansing, Michigan 48912
