I am so sorry.  I had no idea of Rick's passing and would love to get ahold of you. We were out of state during the services.  My thoughts are with you.

Sympathy and prayers go to the Gavin family and friends. I had the good luck to work with Rick in the Suggestions Office 'way back in the day. He was a hard worker and a positive influence. He was a really nice man. In sincere sympathy from a former co-worker.

Dear Gavin Family and Friends, I had the opportunity to work alongside Rick for 5 years at Clinton County RESA.  Rick had many qualities that are to be admired; one such quality was his love of family and the ability to create lasting traditions.  One day at work, we talked about family traditions.  Rick said that on Christmas morning, he would blast the song, "So This is Christmas" by John Lennon.  This song has always been a favorite of mine.  That conversation really impacted me. I envisioned how fun it must be to wake up Christmas morning to a song, full of hope and cheer.  It made me think of my own family and how to incorporate similar traditions. I admired Rick for his unconditional love of his family and grandchildren.  Know that Rick will be greatly missed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this most difficult time.

Uncle Rick was an amazing person. No matter what the circumstances he was always there to brighten your day with a smile, a shoulder to cry on, or a joke to make you laugh. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you Aunt Brenda and Kristi, as well as the rest of the family. I love you all, RIP Uncle Rick, miss you...

I was shocked when my mom Roxi told me the news of Rick's passing! I am so sorry to hear and I hope your family is as well as can be expected. I still remember coming over to visit your house when I was so little and playing with Tina in her room. Rick was always so friendly and I liked him very much. This is Bill Burnham, I am living in Tennessee and just heard this morning about Rick's death. I wish I could be there for the funeral but am unable to. My condolences to you and the kids. Even though it has been many years since I saw all of you, I still think of Rick as my closest friend and brother. Words cannot begin to express my grief when I heard, nor the grief that everyone will feel with his absence. He was a great man, great friend, terrific familyman. I still recall terrific times backpacking and camping and working on the line with Rick. Best wishes for you and all the family during this time. I will keep you in my thoughts and focus on remembering the wonderful times with a wonderful friend!

This is Bill Burnham, I am living in Tennessee now. My condolences to you and your family. I just found out from Roxi, my ex-wife. I wish I could be there, but am unable to. I have always felt that Rick was my best friend and closest thing to a brother that I could ever have. I am very upset to hear about his death and wish there was something I could do for you or could be there myself. Please know that I truely believe Rick was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed. I remember many wonderful times with Rick and your family. I remember backpacking and camping w/him and working next to him on the line. No words will ever be able to express my grief at your loss and the loss of such a great man!

So very sorry for your loss. I pray that your family can find peace and comfort, knowing there is one more angel to watch over you all.

I worked with Rick at GM for many years and enjoyed his company. He was always a very positive person and shared his considerable computer knowledge freely. He was always someone I could depend on  to be truthful and honest. I will remember him as a friend and as a good person.

Rick you were a blessing in our lives, thank you for the special years together.  Love Sis

I remember my brother Rick and such a funny and happy man. He was always there to listen if you had a problem and was so very intelligent. He was knowledgable he was on most everything. He had a heart of Gold and would of done anything for anyone. He loved his family so very much. He was such a hard worker and always over worked himself on everything. He was always determined to reach his goals. He was so sad after his brother Bob and best friend had passed that it was very difficult for him without him. I am relieved that now he is with my brother and my Mother and Father and all of our friends and relatives that we have lost, and my brother is no longer in discomfort. My heart aches but yet another loved one has been taken from us, but I always say that God has his reasons and I don't question them. God loves us all. Rick will be taken very good care of in our heavenly Fathers Kingdom as well as our other loved ones. I will miss you my dear brother and you will always be in my heart. Brenda and all of the Gavin family:  I was shocked to read of Rick's passing.  I will always remember his love of family, jokes, Halloween parties, and our great winter volleyball games.  He will be greatly missed.  We cannot be with you for his service, but know that our thoughts and prayers for comfort are with you now and in the coming days.
