Paul and Marv Ackley

Born to Marvin and Sharon (Riley) Ackley on March 18, 1964 in Lincoln, Nebraska, Paul grew up in the Lansing, Michigan area. He graduated from Ferris State University and then worked as a Design Engineer at Wohlert Corporation in Lansing. After the company closed, Paul returned to Ferris, earned a bachelor's degree, and then began work as a Product Design Engineer at Pratt and Whitney Corporation in Lansing.

He was a music aficionado and enjoyed attending concerts. He also enjoyed golf, fishing, and spending time on the beach in Florida.

Marvin Ackley, age 82, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at Sparrow Hospice House in Lansing, Michigan.

He was born to Kenneth and Evelyn (McClelland) Ackley on April 13, 1941, in Williamston, Michigan and grew up in Woodland, Michigan. After high school, Marvin served in the Air Force in Lincoln, Nebraska where he met his sweetheart, Sharon Riley, to whom he was married for 60 years. He worked for General Motors in Lansing for over 40 years, followed by a brief retirement, before starting a second career at Dart Container in Mason, Michigan. After finally retiring, he enjoyed spending time with his family and cats, working on home improvement projects, and tinkering with computers.

Paul and Marvin are survived by Sharon Ackley, Phyllis (Ron) Fowler, Gary (Sharon) Ackley and Butch (Diana) Ackley, as well as Timothy (Diane) Ackley and Nicholas Ackley.
