Pat Davis

DeWitt – Patricia (Pat) Davis, 86, went to heaven surrounded by family at Sparrow Hospital after a brief illness on June 6, 2018. Pat was born on November 10, 1931, and was one of six children of Kenneth and Fern Wickham in Lansing. She met her true love, Jerry Davis, while in school. They were Homecoming King and Queen at Sexton High School, graduated in 1950, and were married on August 25, 1951. They spent most of their married years in DeWitt, and their love story was an inspiration to all who knew them. Pat was a DeWitt Panther fan, and spent many hours at varsity football and baseball games. She loved going to lunch with her husband every day, and enjoyed talking with and getting to know restaurant servers and managers. Pat was devoted to family and friends, and loved spending time with them. She loved gardening and being outdoors, scrapbooking, her doll collection, and making miniature dollhouse furniture. She worked in various departments at the State of Michigan where she made long lasting friendships, and retired in 1986. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Fern Wickham; sister, Kay Miller; brothers, Ronald and Donald (Skeeter) Wickham. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Gerald (Jerry) Davis; daughter, Cyndi (Davis) Puffenberger; son, Jim (Jackie) Davis; grandsons, Eric and Alec Puffenberger, Joshua (Kristy) Davis, Nicholas Davis; great grandchildren, Karrie Faye and Gunner Davis; sister, Yvonne (Wickham) Wise; brother, Gary (Diane) Wickham; sister-in-law, Marilyn Davis; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman, DeWitt Chapel, and they will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, June 10 from 4-7 p.m., and one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. memorial service on Monday, June 11. Graveside services after the funeral are at the City of DeWitt Cemetery, and a lunch reception will follow at St. Jude Catholic Church, 801 N. Bridge Street in DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pat’s memory to the Redeemer United Methodist Church food pantry in DeWitt, and the American Cancer Society.
