Michele was born alongside her twin, Grace, in Lansing, Michigan on April 8, 1990 to Michael and Tina (Lenneman) Sharkey.
Michele was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Mary Perkins; grandparents, Francis and Helen (Gryble) Sharkey and Eugene and Jeanette (Perkins) Lenneman; uncles, William Sharkey and David Hudson; cousin, Brandon Sharkey; and multiple great-aunts and great-uncles. Recently, Michele lost Roxy, her eldest kitty. Michele is survived by her parents, Michael and Tina Sharkey; sister, Grace Sharkey; brother, Joseph Sharkey; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; great-aunts, Rita Perkins and Connie Lenneman; and beloved boyfriend, Dillon Glover. Most importantly her kitties, Arya, Cardi, and Cow who will be coming to live with their Michigan family.
Michele graduated from DeWitt High School in 2008. After attending Aquinas College for 2 years, she transferred and obtained a Biology BA from Loyola University in Chicago in 2013. Michele received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University Veterinary School in 2017. Michele’s first professional job was at Pol Veterinary Services in Mt. Pleasant. She worked shortly in Missouri, but in 2021 she fulfilled her life dream of being a veterinarian near her beloved Rocky Mountains.
Michele loved all things science-related. Hiking in the mountains while looking for her favorite animal, moose, was one of her favorite activities. From the moment she was born, Michele loved animals and had been determined to be a vet to improve animal health. Michele was athletic and was a cheerleader at both DeWitt High School and Aquinas College. She was a member of DeWitt High School’s state championship golf team in 2007. Her newest passions were snorkeling, diamond art, painting, and ghost hunting. Shell Bell, a family nickname, also loved the Wizard of Oz and had over 500 collectibles. Michele belonged to the BeyHive, and was one of Beyoncé’s most devoted fans.
Michele will be missed more than mere words can say, but we know that her spirit is with God and her angelic family members who preceded her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Michele on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 801 N Bridge St., DeWitt, MI 48820.
