The daughter of Avery and Decima (Spence) Wilson, Lou Ann grew up in Central Lake, MI, where she graduated high school in 1953. Northern Michigan was always dear to her heart and Lou Ann returned there often throughout her life. After attending Lansing Business College, she worked for the State of Michigan and in 1956, she married the love of her life, Charles (Bud) Arnold, with whom she recently celebrated 66 years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Basil Wilson (and wife, Phyllis) and Truman Wilson (and wife, Wilma) and she is survived by many nieces and nephews.
An accomplished pianist, Lou Ann spent her life sharing her love of music with others. She sang professionally in her younger years and spent many more as a piano teacher. Her family and many friends remember her playing the piano and singing for special events or simple get-togethers.
This stylish, soft-spoken lady with a warm and welcoming smile had many titles. Home maker. Seamstress. Lover of books. Girl scout leader. Loyal friend. Good neighbor. Baker of unforgettable pies, cakes, and cookies. Family historian. Cat lover. Ballroom dancer. Celebrator of occasions large and small.
Lou Ann was a kind, caring person who quietly helped others and invisibly held everything together. She built a life full of love, laughter, gentleness, and compassion. She will be missed beyond measure.
A celebration of her life is being planned for Spring 2023.
